What is Reba McEntire’s net worth?

An American country music singer, songwriter, producer, and actress, Reba McEntire has a net worth of $95 million. So far, she has sold over 90 million records worldwide. On-screen, she starred in several films, most notably her own television show, “Reba,” which aired from 2001 to 2007. Her impressive collection includes 16 #1 albums, the highest for any female country artist.

Raised in a rodeo family, McEntire found her love for music early on. Her career began in 1975 when she captured the attention of a music executive after performing the National Anthem at a rodeo event. Initially rooted in traditional country, her music sound transformed over time to incorporate pop elements, showcasing her adaptability as an artist. This shift in style resulted in a larger audience and significant commercial success.

Her numerous accolades include multiple Grammy Awards, Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, and Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. In addition to her musical triumphs, Reba has also made considerable strides in other entertainment sectors—such as television, film, and Broadway—highlighting her wide array of talents.

Early Life

Born in Kiowa, Oklahoma in 1955, Reba started her performance career on the rodeo circuit during her teenage years. She initially enrolled at Southeastern Oklahoma University, aspiring to become an elementary school teacher, while also singing at local venues. In her sophomore year, she performed the National Anthem at the National Rodeo in Oklahoma City, leading to her discovery by country musician Red Steagall, who was greatly impressed by her singing skills. Red took her to Nashville, Tennessee in 197, where she recorded her demo tape. After hearing it, Reba was signed by Mercury Records.

She returned to complete her education and graduated in December 1976. Just a month later, she found herself back in Nashville working on songs for her debut album. However, her first single underwhelmed, reaching only #88 on the Billboard country charts.

In August 1977, Reba released her self-titled debut solo album, which did not achieve commercial success. Her second album, “Out of a Dream,” released in 1979, included a cover of Patsy Cline’s “Sweet Dreams,” which became a top 20 hit.

Success

Reba McEntire rose to prominence in the early 1980s, transitioning from country to pop with an array of number one singles during the 1980s and 1990s, such as “How Blue,” “Somebody Should Leave,” “New Fool at an Old Game,” “I Know How He Feels,” “The Heart Won’t Lie,” “Does He Love You,” “Till You Love Me,” and “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.” By the mid-1980s, most of the albums she produced were certified multi-platinum. Her 1993 greatest hits compilation exceeded 5 million copies in sales. Reba continues to actively release music to this day.

With an extraordinary total of 90 awards won from various organizations and nearly 200 nominations, McEntire received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording in 1998, located at 7018 Hollywood Blvd. She was further honored in 2006 by being inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame.

Debuting on the WB network in October 2001, Reba’s self-titled TV series ran for a total of 127 episodes across six seasons before concluding its broadcast on The CW in February 2007. For her performance, Reba received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series–Musical or Comedy.

Reba has been through two marriages. Her first union with steer wrestling champion Charlie Battles lasted from 1976 until 1987. She wed her manager, Narvel Blackstock, in 1989, with their marriage ending in divorce in 2015. During her marriage to Narvel, she became stepmother to his three children: Chassida, Shawna, and Brandon. Notably, Brandon Blackstock was married to singer Kelly Clarkson. Reba and Narvel also had a son named Shelby Blackstock, who is a race car driver. Their divorce was finalized in October 2015. Additionally, they owned an 80-acre establishment known as Starstruck Farm located in Gallatin, Tennessee, approximately 30 minutes northeast of Nashville. This property features a lakefront house covering 12,800 square feet, a large swimming pool, a pool house, as well as equestrian facilities and tennis courts. They listed the home for sale in September 2016 at $7.9 million, but it remained on the market until being sold for $5 million to a developer in July 2017.
