Born on November 3, 1972, in Tampa, Florida, Albert Kreischer Jr., known as Bert Kreischer, is the son of Al, a real estate attorney, and Gege, who worked in early childhood development. He attended Jesuit High School and later went to Florida State University, where he joined the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and pursued a major in English. During his time at FSU, it earned the title of America’s top “party school” in 1997 according to “The Princeton Review.” Bert gained recognition when “Rolling Stone” magazine named him “the top partyer at the Number One Party School in the country,” featuring a six-page article titled “Bert Kreischer: The Undergraduate.” This caught the attention of director Oliver Stone, who then optioned the rights to Bert’s story, prompting multiple writers to submit scripts to Stone. After the deal didn’t materialize, one writer repurposed Kreischer’s tale into “Van Wilder,” which was later sold to National Lampoon. The film, “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder,” premiered in 2002, starring Ryan Reynolds. Bert later mentioned in 2014, “I’ve never seen it. I had nothing to do with it.”
